1. She was his first love and first person that cared for him after his entire village was massacre and then separated from is only friend and survivor of the village massacre, essentially patching a void in is heart, there are a lot of deep emotionally attachment unlike the other 2 female.

2. The stick magnified his emotion especially the negative one, hence why the old dude was telling him he need to take care of that void in his heart.

3. He was sheltered for most of the time after the village massacre what he is facing is essential to his growth and his own understanding of emotion, good vs evil and how dangerous and complicated these thing are.

Finally is action right now his basically being controlled by that weapon on is back base on his magnified negative emotion, you can't really blame him and called him a fool for behaving the way e does.

actually what i dont like is how easy she feel for dude when she has spent her whole life with the Mc and clearly has feelings for him since they almost kissed each other as shown in the memory recap this ep.... so yeah I think he was and is part of the equation but she is also free to make her own decisions and he probably wouldn't be as jealous if the stick wasn't influencing his negative emotions as his character is not the type to act on his impulses so he probably would have been sad but moved on without ever expressing himself

well you make sense in a way.. a while back somebody in comments was upset that this is very different from the LN and the anime changed allot ..at the time i didnt exactly agree but now i do.. supposedly in the LN he was bullied and treated like trash in the sect and that added to his negative emotions but here in the anime he was treated very well ..at least according to his talent and standing which was mediocre until he got the stick, he has friends and seniors that take care of him even the sister that doesnt see him as a man/potential partner instead of a little brother that needs taking care of. I wish they focused more on the anxiety and uncertainty of the sect teachings being righteous rather than unwarranted jealousy.. cause personally i didnt interpret that scene as them almost kissing rather them suddenly realising their heads were too close to eachother.. that was the only moment shown where she saw him as a man instead of a little brother, for me thats not enough to think she has feelings for him. i do hope this anime gets its sh1t together cause some parts of it are really good while others are trash.. if the trash gets fixed we could have an awesome anime :)
